A needlessly opaque approach sheds no light on the film's intriguing topic or the facts of the central story. The result is beautifully shot, but unsympathetic and inscrutable.

Ouch. I hear and accept your points, but the scene of the group watching the footage alone is worth 35/100.

On the Unintentional Hilarity scale, maybe even 50. But it loses a lot of its punch since it's just actors reenacting.
I'll admit, I was hoping for more shots of dudes and animals doin' it. But about halfway through the film, I realized I was going to have to go on Wikipedia to find out what actually happened, since nobody would specify anything. By the time it was over, I no longer cared.
