This concept is insane, but really no more insane than Jurassic Park, or your various tales “of the Apes”. What’s astonishing is that it’s played completely straight (with a serious excess of romantic dolphin footage)—Mike Nichols and Buck Henry are the last guys you’d expect to scrub all the satire from the source material. (And we know George C. Scott would’ve been great in the satiric verison.)
