The story runs into a flat part here and there (never a good sign when a new musical interlude ramps up five minutes after the last one), but like most things Aardman does, it overflows with charm and whimsy—with rich visuals and characteristic attention to detail in the performance, sets, and character designs. Hugh Grant is at his best.
