The premise is intriguing but preposterously justified, the editing is unnecessarily frenetic, and the camera never, ever sits still. In other words: a Tony Scott movie. He made some great ones and some abysmal ones, and this one’s right in the middle, buoyed by fine work from Paula Patton and Denzel, and a script that (in between the nonsense) delivers on the premise.
