Very smart directorial choices—shots, lighting, and editing are well planned and economized. Finds an unusual tone that somehow juxtaposes moments of warmth, pathos, comedy, and brutal action, without compromising any of them. At this point, I’m interested to check out anything Mikkelsen signs on to.
