Sophie Thatcher turns in a strong and challenging performance, hitting all the different beats with an appealing humanity and a consistent core energy across wildly different scenes. Quaid is good as well, though it might have been nice to have a little more charismatic appeal in his worst moments. Hancock does a fine job of creating a unique energy that’s undefinably “off,” even before things start to ramp up.
