Quite possibly Disney’s best animated film since the classic era. The songs are excellent; the humor always lands; the cast is lean and well-matched; and the design and character animation are spectacular. This is the closest they’ve ever come to matching the finely tuned perfection of Pixar at its best—hopefully someday they’ll wrap up their Frozen franchise, ditch Lin-Manuel Miranda, and get back to making stuff like this.
