Definitely glad I gave this a rewatch. It’s still a little too long, and a little too scattered—if the story is about Graysmith’s obsession, then a lot of the early stuff could have been condensed more effectively—but Fincher builds the mystery and confusion expertly. It's easy to see why the case would take over someone's life.
