The beauty of Disney-era Star Wars is that it goes in all directions, and we get genius like Andor and The Mandalorian which are immensely satisfying in completely different ways. The drawback is that my god everyone has to have a hot take about fucking everything. Online, this film is a disaster that’s poised to damage the franchise even worse than Phantom Menace; in the theatre, it’s a rollicking good time, a great Mandalorian and Grogu story, and a clear labor of love from every single department at ILM—delivering their very best work in props, puppets, and CGI.
