Paul Rudd has had my number since Clueless, so it’s no surprise I loved him in this, but anyone would—he’s a fantastic fit for this character. Like Rudd, the story is charming, engaging, and heartfelt. Between this and Sing Street, I marvel at the songs John Carney and Gary Clark have penned: tailored to serve the story; believably the output of their characters; and absolute bangers in their own right.
