You Mean I'm Not a Filthy Hippie?
My holiday break starts on Friday and I'm swamped with responsibilities trying to get prepared. So of course the most enjoyable leisure activities – TiVo, this site – are the first to suffer. So, this is a quickie, but lots of fun. My friend's wife's blog (WOAF's blog? BOAWOAF?) mentioned this political quiz, and you should take it! It's fun!
While the structure of some questions implies that the test was constructed by liberals, I think the bias is very mild. Most questions don't demonize the conservative answer, and those that (gently) slant away from it are not – in my opinion – slanted enough to change the mind of the reader.
My results were:
Economic Left/Right: -1.00
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.72
I'm so much more moderate than I would ever have imagined! I'm like a Libertarian Jean Chretien – or a right-wing Dalai Lama.
It's important to view the graph on this page when you're done. The title makes it sound like a rant against Christian conservatives, but it's really just an evaluation of where our terms of "left" and "right" misrepresent the issue a little.

By the way, this question on page 4 merits mention: "Although the electronic age makes official surveillance easier, only wrongdoers need to be worried."
This "only wrongdoers need to be worried" thing is something with which I strongly agreed, up until the Patriot Act opened my eyes to the unimaginably excessive lengths to which the surveillance and detention of innocents can be carried.
