Pwned—3:06 PM
What does it say about a culture when typos become neologisms?
I ran across "pwned" online a few times in the last few days and from the context I assumed it was an intentional misspelling of "owned," for use expressing domination. (As in, "I totally pwned you.") Which turns out to be more or less the case. It's just like "teh" – someone typed it wrong and suddenly everyone's doing it on purpose to be "funny."
I think we can all agree "All your [whatever] are belong to us" is hilarious, but there should be restrictions in place to keep this from getting out of hand.
I'll admit, however, that this is awesome.
