From the Guardian (UK)'s story about plans to re-release Tarantino/Rodriguez's double feature Grindhouse as two single releases:
[M]any film-goers have been confused by the movie's structure - mistakenly assuming that there was only one film on offer and leaving the cinema en-masse after the Rodriguez section.
I think these people are just weary of Tarantino's "look at me!" antics and they're sparing themselves a wasted 90 minutes. I'm certainly glad to hear that Rodriguez's portion is going first. If curiosity gets the better of me and I decide to go see it, I'll be able to opt out at the midpoint.

I'll pretend I didn't just read that.

Because of the leaving-before-the-credits thing? I assumed each movie had its own separate credits; otherwise those film-goers have been very confused indeed.
All I'm saying is, when I read "film-goers leaving the cinema en-masse" right before a Tarantino movie was about to start playing, I thought, "Sounds about right to me." But you stayed awake for all of Kill Bill, Vol. 2, so of course you're entitled to your opinions, too.

Just saw it– fantastic films. I actually liked Tarantino's better. But then, I stayed awake and enthralled with all of Kill Bill, so it's just my opinion.
Even so, it's almost worth going just for the fake trailers. Frisky cheerleader on a trampoline + butcher knife = hilarity!!

Yeah, the fake trailers did sound fun. We had a kid do one of those in Cinema 290 – it's a great concept. According to the Bobby Corollary, these'll be available from Netflix; I think I'll bide my time.
